Our Mission

We exist to make mature followers of Jesus Christ by equipping them for a life of spiritual passion that impacts their home, the community, and the world for Jesus Christ.

Core Values

Discipline is a key ingredient for any type of growth, especially spiritual growth. Discipline is difficult to cultivate and even harder to maintain. However, there is one thing that makes the act of becoming disciplined easier. We are disciplined about the things that we are passionate about! As Christians, we should be passionate about reaching our full potential in Christ. How do we go about cultivating a life of spiritual passion? There are many areas of the Christian life that are keys to this pursuit. As a church, we have identified six areas that we believe are foundational to becoming more like Christ and living a healthy and balanced Christian life.

Our Beliefs

At Grace Church, we distinguish doctrines in two categories: Foundational Doctrines and Structural Doctrines. Foundational Doctrines are what we consider to be the nonnegotiable, basic tenets of Christian doctrine. We believe that these Foundational Doctrines are fundamental to the Christian faith and have been taught and practiced accordingly for over 2,000 years. Agreement on these areas is essential for Grace Church practice and fellowship. Structural Doctrines are also doctrines we consider to be extremely important (as they help to define who we are as a church), yet we acknowledge that there is some room for disagreement among committed believers over these important issues.

To be a member at Grace Church, a believer’s complete agreement with our Foundational Doctrines is required, while their complete agreement with our Structural Doctrines is not required. We have diversity within our church body concerning Structural Doctrines, but we are thoroughly committed to maintaining the unity of the church despite disagreements on those issues. More important than our agreement on every Structural Doctrine is our responsibility and desire to maintain a spirit of unity and keep divisiveness from disrupting our fellowship. The following comprise our Foundational Doctrines:

Elder Led

Being elder-led means ultimate oversight of the church belongs to a plurality of elders, as opposed to one senior pastor.  We benefit from the protection this provides, along with a diversity of wisdom, experience, and gifting. Our governing elder board consists of both staff and non-staff elders, all of whom must meet the qualifications of an elder set forth in 1 Timothy 3:2–7 and Titus 1:6–9.

Governing elders provide oversight to our lead staff and ensure that our mission and doctrine guide everything we do. While campus pastors and other shepherding elders bear the weight of the daily care for our members and staff, our governing elders provide the support and boundaries necessary to fulfill the mission God has called us to.

There is no set number of elders, and the current board is always praying and considering additional elders as the church continues to grow. New elders are selected by the current board of elders, and the church body has an opportunity, prior to ordination of a new elder, to bring forth reasonable concern or agreement with the qualifications of the proposed elder.
