Through Him
Teaching Pastor; Staff Governing Elder; Staff Director
Paul reminds the believers at Colossae that everything we experience comes through Jesus, and he holds all things together. As we look at this truth through the lens of discipleship, it should propel us to devote our lives more and more to Jesus.
Application
While Jesus has reconciled us to God through himself, Paul tells us to “continue to believe.” How can you be active and intentional in growing in holiness?
In John 15, Jesus says abiding in him leads to loving others and bearing witness to how he’s changed you. Reflect on the extent to which this is true in your life.
Key Points
All we see and experience has been created through Christ. He existed before anything else, and he holds creation together.
This universe is grounded in the purpose and will of a person. Christ is the source of direction, authority, and life.
When Jesus’ body was broken on the cross, he dealt with all the brokenness in our lives and the world. This is why we can trust him in the midst of suffering.
Reconciliation to God happens through Christ. It’s important for us to remember who we were before God redeemed us.
