In the final chapter of Revelation, John calls the Church once more to fidelity and holds out God’s promise of eternal life for those who follow him. God knows how our story will end, which should strengthen us to endure persecution and resist seduction.

Application
Our deeds reveal the state of our hearts. Take some time to reflect on your actions, words, and time spent over the past few weeks—are there any areas where you need to repent? How can you grow in faithfulness?
If you are being devoured by the world, Revelation holds out hope. If life is going well for you, Revelation warns against seduction and addiction to the comforts of this world. Which category do you fall into?
Key Points
Scripture is clear that God blesses obedience, not intention. Our deeds are like a breadcrumb back to our hearts.
Jesus promises to return soon. While we may not understand his timeline, we can be confident that he is being patient.
The faithful who are killed in the tribulation receive a special reward. Losing here on earth often comes alongside faithfulness.
When Jesus exposes your need for him, you have to decide whether or not you agree with him.
We should not stand in judgment of God’s Word. Rather, we must let his Word evaluate us.
