Have you felt some new, youthful energy at your campus lately? It’s probably from our Kairos interns! We have 22 summer interns spread across all our campuses, and they are learning, being discipled, and serving in many ways. These young men and women are bringing their energy, skills, and desire to learn to the table in the areas of Students, A/V, Communications, Outreach, Worship, and more.

Mosaic is our special needs and disabilities ministry, and our staff and volunteers do an amazing job supporting all our Mosaic families. Caring for a family member with a disability can be challenging and isolating in the best of circumstances, so we want to create space for families to connect with one another, enjoy community, and get some time to recharge.

This past weekend, we began a new teaching series—Self Made. It is a badge of honor in American culture to be considered a self-made man or woman. With good reason. Yet, being the god of our own world has a dark side. When we are at the center, the pressure is on us to find happiness, meaning, and security. A message promising freedom turns us into slaves—anxious, tired, and disconnected.

Allendale and Hampton counties are located in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, and our partnership with local churches in the Lowcountry began over a decade ago. One way we come alongside these churches is through BridgeBuilders—a summer camp for local children and students focused on bridging gaps in our relationships with each other and with Christ.

May is Foster Care Awareness Month, and we want to take some time to celebrate all that God is doing through our Foster & Adopt ministry and pray for the families and individuals who are involved. This past weekend, we heard Spartanburg members Robert and Autumn Andrews share part of their story of fostering and adopting two children.
